Thank You

It looks like I'm madly making cards this week. ;-)  This one's a Thank You card made for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #171 hosted by Mona.

The focal image was from Flourishes stamp set On the Porch and the sentiment was from Botanical Bookplates Vol 2.  I used quite a number of Copic markers but I'm sorry I forgot to record them down before putting away all the markers.  The image is rather small so it's pretty easy to colour.  The patterned paper is from BasicGrey Picadilly 6x6 pad. By the way, have you seen the new Memento colours?  They are gorgeous and I have to say Memento Espresso Truffle is my new favourite!

I'm also submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp challenge - Anything Goes, this week.

Take care, and Thanks for visiting me.

Inspired Stamps - Military

Welcome to Inspired Stamps Thursday inspiration - this week the theme is Military!  Antoinette has some really Awesome stamps for this theme.

My card is really simple.  I used the Inspired Stamps sets Military Soldier and 1.5inch Circle Greetings.

The Military Soldier was stamped on kraft cardstock and coloured with Copic Markers.  Then I embossed the kraft cardstock with an embossing folder and a diffuser so that only the borders surrounding the image is embossed.  To accentuate the embossed areas, I sponged some Distress Ink Antique Linen.  The sentiment is stamped on white cardstock and and I added a burlap ribbon underneath it for some interest.

I hope you like the card.  Be sure to click over to Inspired Stamps Blog for more inspiration from the Design Team.

Have a wonderful day!

Have A Blast!

I am loving the little peeps of Waltzing Mouse Stamps!  For my card today, I used the sets Half-Pint Heroes and the background set Off Beat Backgrounds.  What a fun sketch once again from Lynn M!

First, I stamped the checkered background with Memento Gray Flannel on white cardstock.  Then I stamped the rest of the images.  The little guy's head was stamped on another white cardstock and cut out and adhered using pop dot.  All the images were coloured with Copic Markers : Skin (E000, E01, E11, R20) Hair (E13, E11), Car (R30, R32, R35, R37, R39, C1, C3, C5, E31, E33, E34, BG000, BG0000), Sun (Y13, Y15, Y17).  The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and white embossed and adhered with pop dots.

Here's Lynn's sketch for this week:

Hope you like the card ;-).

Jet Setter

Guess you can tell my weekend was taken up with colouring PI cuties!  There's a sketch contest at My Favorite Things this month and the winner gets to be the MFT Guest Designer for June.  MFT is definitely a favourite stamp company and I absolutely LOVE their stamps and Die-namics.

Here's the lovely card sketch.  I decided to pull out an older Pure Innocence set for my card.  One of my great 'loves' is to travel and I love that there is a perfect MFT stamp set for me to showcase, Pure Innocence "Are We There Yet?".

The PI girl was coloured with Copic Markers - Hair (E21, E23, E29), Skin (E50, E01, E11, E13, R21), Top (B21, B41, B445), Shorts (B60, B63), Bags (R20, R22, R24, R29, C1, C5), Slippers (R20, R22, R24, E01, E13), Outline (B000 & Colourless Blender).

I used quite a number of Die-namics on the card - Loopy Bloom (the gorgeous white felt bloom), Eiffel Tower (cut from patterned paper), Textile Rectangle (the PI girl image), Mini Tabs Foursome (sentiment - Jet setter), Perfect Bracket Edge (to cut the bottom edge of the white felt), Little Open Scallop Strip border (the borders along the white felt), Skyline Border (the skyline strip behind the image) and the Solid Bracket Border (cut from red patterned paper just underneath the skyline strip).  Wow, I didn't realise till I started listing, this must be my record use of Die-namics on a single card!

Another MFT product I really love (and can't find any that match the quality) is the MFT Felt.  There's a host of colours and they are the BEST felt to use with the Die-namics.  It cuts perfectly everytime! On my card, I've used the Puff Cloud White felt for the Loopy Bloom and the background behind the PI girl.  Something I've not tried before, I embossed the white felt using an embossing folder for added texture to the background.  It's really hard to photograph to show the texture but hopefully you can see it..

I'm not big on buying embellishments, but I buy lots of Die-namics as I feel they are great investment for adding interest to my projects.  I have a scary list of them ;)

Thanks for taking to visit me today.

Have a "Die-namic" day!

A Card and A Tag

Don't you just love the sweet PI girls?  Here's another one which has not seen ink.  She is just the sweetest Scientist!

I coloured her with the following Copic markers : Skin (E50, E01, E11, R20), Hair (E11, E13, E15), Blouse & Shoes (R20, R21, R22), Pants (BG53, BG45, BG49, BG10), Beaker (R20, R00), Background (B0000).  The Die-namics used are Prima Donna Petals for the flowers, Ticket Mini Tabs Foursome and Chevron Stripes (love this!).  The background is a kraft cardstock embossed using Tim Holtz's Texture Fades embossing folder inked with Memento Rose Bud before running it through my Big Shot.  The patterned papers are from Simple Stories Fab{U}lous 6x6 pad.  By the way, there are so many perfect sentiments in this Pure Innocence Scientist set to go with the card for the inside.

The card follows this MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketch:

I also made a tag from the same image for the Crafty Friends Challenge #4 - Anything but a Card.

Orchids

Can you tell how much I love flowers? {smiles} This month, the Flourishes Challenge, Bring Back Beautiful is all about Mother Nature.  When I was young, my aunt and uncle lived in a huge estate with the most beautiful flower garden.  My uncle loved orchids and I believe he had every species of orchids existing in the country at the time!

So, no surprise here, that I'm using the Flourishes Orchids set for my card...

This was surely the most challenging floral image for me to colour.  I struggled trying to make it look right but I think it worked out ok ;-)  I was watching the TV and trying to colour at the same time.

The Copic markers I used are: Orchids (RV11, R81, R83, R85, YR21), Stem (YG21, YR21, G40, G43, G46), Background (BG10 & Colourless Blender).  The orchids image was cut using Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Rectangles and sponged with Memento Summer Sky around the edges.  The sentiment was stamped and cut with MFT Oval Stax 2 and sponged with Memento New Sprout.  The patterned paper and the blue cardstock were cut using the Spellbinders Grand Labels Twenty Three.  The patterned paper and trim are from Webster's Pages.

I'm also submitting this to the Stamping Sisters in Christ challenge #140 (just made it!).

Have a beautiful Sunday!

Inspired Stamps - Blessed is the Man

Welcome to another week with Inspired Stamps!  This week, the theme is Father's Day or Masculine projects.  I'm sharing a Father's Day card, using these Inspired Stamps sets - His Little Ones: Thankful Boy and Men of Favor (Sentiments).  I went for a Clean and Simple card as I think fathers tend to prefer simplicity.

The Thankful Boy is coloured with Copic markers - Skin E50, E01, E11; Hair - E50, E31, E33, E35; Shoes - E11, E13, E15.  Then I did some paper piecing for his outfit and added a little shading on his shirt with C00, C1, C3 and his sleeves and collar with W00, W1, W3.  I also added some Copic Opaque White on his eyes.  The image and Scripture piece was cut, and sponged with some distress ink.

For the sentiment, I used the verse from Jeremiah - I love how meaningful this piece of Scripture is.  With some stitching around the edges and I popped it on a strip of patterned paper cut with a scalloped die.

I would also like to highlight that Inspired Stamps is participating in the Operation Write Home's annual Memorial Day Blog Hop.  Inspired Stamps will be giving away several of their Soldier-focused Stamp sets to those who join and comment in the blog hop.

Be sure to keep this in mind that there will be a week long of Memorial Day special - 25% off total purchases from Thursday May 24th to Thursday May 31st.  This is a fabulous time to purchase the stamps on your wishlist.

Be sure to check out the Inspired Stamps blog, for more Awesome inspiration the Design Team is sharing today.

I'm also submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp Father's Day challenge.

Aim HIGH Kid!

Hello Friends!  Welcome to the May Waltzing Mouse Blog Party!  This month's theme is Felt or Cozy Fabrics and I am so looking forward to see Everyone's fabulous projects!

For my card, I opted to use felt and stamps from my current favourite WMS set Half-Pint Heroines, with a lot of fussy cutting ;)  I would love to ride in a Hot Air Balloon someday - it would be so awesome and fun!  Till then, I'd have to rely on my imagination... to create the scene for this card  :)

First, I stamped all the images (hot air balloon, clouds, bird and the girl) on white cardstock using Memento Rich Cocoa except the clouds, where I used Memento Summer Sky.  I also die cut the little house and trees using white cardstock. Then I coloured all the images with Copic Markers, here are the markers I used - Hot air Balloon - R43, R35, R46; Basket - E31, E33, E35, YR20, YR21, YR23; Clouds - BG10 & B0000; Bird - E33, E31, E01; Girl's face - E50, E01, E11; Hair - E11, E13, E15, House - R01, R02, R14; and the Trees - YG21, YG23, YG25, E13.  Next, I stamped the balloon again on patterned paper and paper pieced the panels as shown.

For the landscape, I used two colours of felt, and die-cut them with Wonky Scallop border. I adhered the felt to the cardstock and arranged all the elements as shown.  I added some Baker's twine to connect the hot air balloon to the basket. The sentiment was stamped using the new Memento Teal Zeal (love this colour!) and I popped it up on a strip of the same blue paper.

Would you believe that the inspiration for this card came from the WMS Sketch by Lynn this week?  It was certainly with some added imagination on my part, LOL!

Here's another look at the card;

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Be sure to check out the Fabulous projects on Claire's blog from all the WMS fans participating today.

From the Heart

Hi, hope you had a wonderful weekend! It feels like the days are flying by so quickly and I'm falling behind with my list of to-dos. But, well, I really can't complain as I got some new goodies to play with over the weekend.  And, I did ink up some stamps that are in a box just waiting to be used.

Here's my card:

from this  TCM's May Sketch
This time I stayed true to the sketch pretty much, it's fun just to do so.  No fancy colouring, just a few Copics on that beautiful dress (V000, V01, V04 and RV10, RV13, RV14 for the sash).  The dress was cut out and adhered with pop dots onto the card, where I've also stamped the dress form image with Memento Rich Cocoa.  I added a piece of sheer gathered trim at the bottom of the dress.  The dress form and the sentiment are from TCM's Sew Lovely and the flowers from Simply Delightful stamp set.

Here's another closer look at the card..

There's plenty of time still to play along this challenge if you'd like to.

Since this is a CAS card, I'm submitting it for the Simon Says Stamp challenge as well.

Have a Fabulous week!

Hi!

Hi! Sometimes you need a card with just that simple sentiment ;)  My card was inspired by the challenge at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #169.  This week Maki has a really fun one, to pick an alphabet and use supplies/elements that begins with that letter on your project.

I picked the letter "C" for my card - Circles, Copics, Cutting.  I used the patterned paper from My Mind's Eye with circles on it for the background & a Circle doily, Copics markers for colouring and I did some cutting around the stamped image.

As the patterned paper is already quite busy, I just added a strip of washi tape at the bottom to anchor the stamped image.  The Copic markers I used for colouring the image are - Flowers Y13, Y35, Y38; Leaves & stems YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97; Frame BG10; Outline around flowers G0000 and Background Y00.

The main image was stamped with Memento Peanut Brittle and I also stamped the larger floral image on the doily circle using Memento Cantaloupe (another C?).

Love this challenge and thanks to Maki for making it so fun!

Thanks for visiting me today.

Teepee Girl

I've been neglecting my sweet Pure Innocence girls for little while - but I'm back ;)  I'm a big fan of animation and this little girl reminds me so much of Pocahontas.  I just had to colour her and this week's MFT sketch MFTWSC72 helped me put the card together.

Here's my card:
My little Pocahontas (Pure Innocence Indian Girl) is coloured with Copic Markers - Skin (E50, E01, E13, R20), Outfitt (R20, R22, R24, E0000, E13, E30, E31, E33), Hair (E51, E21, E99, E29), Background (B0000).

I used several Die-namics on the card.  The girl image was cut out using the Oval Stax 2 Die-namics, and layered on the Oval Decorative Doily.  The Sheltering tree was cut with Kraft cardstock and I sponged the new Memento Toffee Crunch (Love this new colour!) on it.  And, I cut a piece of red felt using Royal Rolled Rose.  The patterned papers are from Simple Stories Generations 6x6.

Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!

Unity Friends with Flair (18.05.2012) - Celebrate Life!

Hello Friends!  Thank you for taking the time to visit me.  I hope you'll enjoy today's card - it's a call to Celebrate Life, Everyday, Wherever YOU are!

I LOVE this Itty Bitty by Authentique - Everyday, Everywhere (thanks to Emily, it's the other Itty Bitty prize I received for commenting on her GIU post).  It has such a fun image and a great sentiment.

Picture of everyday, EVERYWHERE
I thought the image would go so well with the Studio Calico Abroad collection.  I especially love the globe paper.  For some reason the combination of the papers and stamps reminded me of the song "We Are The World" ;) I guess that was the inspiration for this card:

I used Distress Markers on the stamp - Shabby Shutters, Spiced Marmalade, Broken China and Worn Lipstick.  These markers are so fun.  Can you also tell I had quite a day with the Sewing machine?  I'm back to being in love with this machine, so many stitches to choose!  (FYI the machine has been sitting in the store room neglected, for 8 years!!) By the way, I've forgotten how to make the machine work with the foot pedal, I can get it work only with the start/stop button! LOL!

Here's a closer look at the card -

Make sure you check out the Unity blog for all the Friends with Flair projects today...You will be inspired!

Have a lovely Friday and a Wonderful weekend!!
